In addition to managing our Residential Children’s Home, the new Registered Manager will form part of the Senior Management Team (SMT). The successful applicant will assist the Registered Manager, deputising in their absence, to take the lead in maintaining the high standards we have set. The successful applicant must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare to apply for this role; this is a non-negotiable requirement of the role.

Residential Childcare Worker - Full Time and Bank Staff

An exciting opportunity is available to join our Trust as a Residential Childcare Worker (RCW). Working within our Residential Children's Home you will join our committed staff providing security and stability for up to 5 young people. Our RCWs play an important role supporting the Registered Manager and Senior Residential Childcare Workers with the day to day running of the home, enabling our young people to achieve positive change in their lives.

Primary Teacher (2 x Maternity Cover Vacancies)

 

Talbot House Trust are looking to recruit two qualified primary teachers to cover a period of maternity leave. The suitable applicants must have experience of working with SEN pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, Trauma and attachment, some of pupils may have multiple needs.

 

We are a small non-maintained school with pupils ranging from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, both roles are to teach Key Stage 1 & 2. Class sizes are rarely bigger than 6 pupils.

 

The applicant should have excellent subject knowledge, high expectations for all pupils and excellent classroom management skills.

Learning Support Assistant

Domestic Assistant x2

Talbot House Trust are looking to recruit two additional Domestic (Cleaning) Assistant, working 15 hours per week, you will work as a duo and form part of our Cleaning Team.

We are a registered charitable trust with a School and Residential Children’s Home on the same site. Set in 8 acres of beautifully maintaining gardens and land, you would be forgiven if you thought we are based in the heart of the countryside, however, we are based in Walbottle, offering an easy commute for our staff.

Starting date is as soon as possible.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday. We are looking for two Domestic Assistants (Cleaners) to work outside of core school hours, 3 hours per day, either 4:00pm to 7:00pm (we may consider 3:00pm to 6:00pm or 3:30pm to 6:30pm or 5:00pm to 8:00pm).

Salary: £7,410 per annum (£9.50 per hour) starting rate, rising in April 2023, and rising again following successful 6 month probationary period to the Real Living Wage (currently £9.90 per hour).

Voluntary Roles: Trustees and Governors

The Trust is seeking to find several Trustees and/or Governors to join our Trust on a voluntary basis.

This is a great opportunity to take up voluntary work, especially if your employer promotes paid charity work days. You could become part of a small team who really do change children's lives.  We would welcome applications for these important roles from enthusiastic and reliable individuals who have a genuine interest in the welfare, care and development of children and young people with social, emotional or mental health considerations.  

If you have are a local resident / parent / business owner or if you have a background in Education, Charity, HR, Children’s Social Care, Children’s or Adolescents Therapy we would be especially interested to hear from you, however, we would welcome all applicants as we seek a diverse group of volunteers. To be a Trustee or a Governor you do not need prior experience but do need to share our passion about our services.

Full induction and ongoing training will be provided.

The Trust does require a level of commitment for the roles with an expectation to meet up to 4 evenings per year for full board meetings, and Governors are allocated to committees, which also meet 4 times a year. With a number of meetings now held online the commitment to travel has been reduced making these volunteer roles really flexible and suited to all individual situations.
