Kitchen Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Kitchen Assistant to join our team to assist with the smooth running of the school kitchen to ensure the delivery of a safe, healthy and high-quality catering service at the school. This will include food preparation, food service, kitchen and dining area hygiene, and any other duties associated with food service operations. Working as part of a small efficient team, you will have responsibilities for food production for approximately 50 children and around 30 school staff on a daily basis, this includes breakfast, break, and lunch. You will be expected to comply with the principles of Healthy Schools, COSHH, and Health and Safety in Food. Knowledge of the Good School Food Guide will be an advantage.

​Working agreed hours between 7:00am to 3:00pm per day, Monday to Friday, term time, this role can be full time or part-time (job share). Holiday hours will remain the same during non-term time contractually, however, we tend to work slightly shorter hours, with no reduction in wage, plus the successful individual will only work 1 week of the Easter school holiday period, 2 weeks of the summer holiday period, 3 days per week during each of the 3 half term holidays, and will be off for the full Christmas period.

 

We would look to offer this role on a full-time basis, or part-time, job share basis.

Salary will depend on agreed hours, equal to £10.90 per hour, paid as a set salary.
