Education Trustee needed at Talbot House Trust

Talbot House Trust in Walbottle, Newcastle upon Tyne, is looking for an education professional to join its board of trustees.

Talbot House Trust is a registered charity and provides a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people with complex needs, so they can thrive and achieve their potential.

Talbot House Trust comprises a special educational needs school, a residential care home for children and a vocational skills centre.

Deirdre Pearson, Chief Executive, explains:

“We’re seeking a new trustee who can share their wealth of experience and expertise within the education sector with us. We’re looking for a passionate, committed individual who can donate a few hours of their time to challenge our thinking, help drive our strategy, ensure we provide the highest quality education and care we can and in doing so make a lasting difference to the lives of children with complex needs.”

Talbot House trustees are responsible for: ensuring the senior management team delivers the key objectives of the organisation; ensuring the charity is running well; as well as addressing specific issues such as safeguarding and behaviour. This involves attending board meetings which take place quarterly and providing ongoing advice and support on an ad hoc basis.
