Celebration of Success Day

Talbot House recently held its Celebration of Success Day to recognise the achievements of all the children from the school year. It’s a chance for parents, carers, commissioners, staff and children to join together to give each other a pat on the back.

This year was the first time our Head teacher Crispian had led the event. During his opening speech he mentioned how special Talbot House was and what a privilege it was to work there. He mentioned how things will inevitably change but to take that as an opportunity and dive when you’re falling.

Other events included a live band called The Waiters who played requests as well as their set. It was fantastic to see the children enjoy the live music and join in with some dancing.

On our special grills we had head chef Ivan with Tom helping, alongside a fantastic spread provided by our hospitality team. On the sports field there was a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, rodeo bull, coconut shy and an ice cream van.

It was a great day and as one of our carers said “It was a true celebration and it was clear to see all the young people enjoyed themselves as well as being acknowledged for their hard work and achievements during the year.”

The question is, how do we make next year, bigger and better?
